Rachel Sobel
Rachel Sobel is the mother of two children, ages 9 and 10. Just six weeks after her eldest
was born, she returned to full-time work as a communications specialist because she could not
afford to take unpaid time off. Committed to breastfeeding her son, Rachel started a lactation
program to help other mothers at her company combine nursing and working. She continued her
breastfeeding advocacy as a peer counselor with La Leche League. Since then, Rachel has served
as an editor of parenting web sites and as an independent marketing/communications consultant
and freelance writer. She is currently a writer and editor for the healthcare industry. Rachel lives with her family in Evanston.
